Food for Change: The Terra Madre Salone del Gusto Revolution

Organized by Slow Food, the Region of Piedmont and the City of Turin, Terra Madre Salone del Gusto will be taking over Turin from September 20 to 24, 2018. “Food for Change” is the guiding theme of this 12th edition of the world’s most important event dedicated to good, clean and fair food, from the program of conferences and Taste Workshops to the immense Market to the Terra Madre Forums where farmers and food artisans from around the world will be gathering. Preparations Underway for Terra Madre Salone del Gusto 2018

The organization of Terra Madre Salone del Gusto 2018 has been proceeding apace for some months now, and in Turin and among food professional rumors are swirling about what this 12th edition of the most important international event for good, clean and fair food will look like.


Figures always require interpretation, often a difficult task. Nonetheless, some of the numbers from Terra Madre Salone del Gusto 2016 can give an idea of the scale and scope of the last edition of the event.

Terra Madre Salone del Gusto 2016 Closes, A New Chapter Opens

Seven thousand delegates from 143 countries, 300 Slow Food Presidia and 1000 food communities of the Terra Madre network from five continents. These are not simply numbers, they represent a humanity that is united here to discuss the great challenges which we must confront, above all the safeguarding of agricultural biodiversity.
